Gold weight units explained
Gram (g) — the standard international weight unit. Most Dubai prices are quoted per gram.
Tola — a traditional South Asian unit equal to 11.6638 grams. Widely used at Dubai Gold Souk by Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi buyers.
Troy Ounce (oz) — the standard international unit for gold trading. 1 troy oz = 31.1035 grams. Used for international spot price quotes (e.g. $3,318/oz).
Kilogram (kg) — used for larger gold bar purchases. 1kg = 1000 grams.
